DETROIT, Dec. 10, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- The North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) today released the official press conference schedule for the 2015 edition of the show, which begins with Press Preview, Jan. 12-13.
NAIAS 2015 Chairman Scott LaRiche says Detroit remains a critical part of automaker's global product launch strategies, as evidenced by the number of press conferences scheduled.
"Manufacturers around the world continue to rely on NAIAS for their most important vehicle unveilings," says LaRiche. "And demand for press conference time at NAIAS has never been greater. Simply stated: this show is going to rock with the industry's best."
With about one month to go before the show opens to the largest media audience in North America, the industry is stronger than it's been in years, and is producing vehicles that are more technologically-advanced, fuel efficient and beautifully designed than ever before, says LaRiche.
"And that's why our media numbers remain high," he says. "Detroit is the world stage and this is where manufacturers and media want to be."
Most of the press conferences will take place at Cobo Center, with some events held in the glass atrium facing the Detroit River. As it has been for the past few years, the Ford press conference will be at neighboring Joe Louis Arena on Mon., Jan. 13, at 9:10 am. The two-day Press Preview will include 40 officially scheduled events, beginning with the Tier One auto supplier Johnson Controls at 6:30 am.
With more than 5,000 journalists from around the globe expected to attend the NAIAS, the show continues to be at the forefront as a venue for manufacturers and Tier One suppliers to announce new vehicles and make industry news. NAIAS also attracts large numbers of high ranking auto executives.
