Jan 9, 2012

DETROIT, Jan. 9, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- AMP Electric Vehicles (OTCBB and OTCQB: AMPD), an electric vehicle company, specializing in truck conversions, today expanded its product line with their all-electric AMP Jeep Grand Cherokee.

The unveiling of the AMP all-electric Jeep occurred today at the 2012 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) in Detroit. A running prototype of the groundbreaking EV was on-hand for test drives on the Ride & Drive track.

AMP announced an introductory price starting at $57,400 for the all-electric Jeep Grand Cherokee. The new model is expected to attract both retail customers and fleet users who desire to take a public position on zero emissions. First deliveries of fully validated vehicles are projected for this fall.

First Dealer Introduced

In an event at the Detroit Auto Show that included U.S. Senator Sherrod Brown of Ohio, AMP introduced its first dealer, Dana Hackney, a multi-line dealer from Cincinnati, Ohio.

"I'm very excited to be the first dealer and to be on the ground floor to take advantage of this great business opportunity in the emerging electric vehicle industry," said Mr. Hackney. "We are seeing increasing demand for EVs from retail and fleet buyers and our team is very pleased to be able to satisfy these customers."

The company also announced that it would immediately begin to take reservations for the AMP Grand Cherokee EV from fleet and retail customers online at www.ampelectricvehicles.com.

"With the addition of the AMP Jeep EV to our product line-up we are continuing our strategy of beginning with an already great vehicle which we then electrify for retail and fleet customers who are looking for a zero emission vehicle and in this case maintain the benefits of an up-level SUV package. Beginning our association with our first dealer, Mr. Hackney, who is a well respected leader in customer satisfaction and innovation, marks a very important milestone in AMP's history," said Jim Taylor, AMP CEO.

Production of AMP's Jeep Grand Cherokee EV will be done at the company's Engineering and Production facility in Loveland, Ohio.
