Buehler Strengthens its Auto Industry Presence with New Detroit-based Key Accounts Manager and Plans to Expand its Michigan Facilities

David Griffith, a 14-year Automotive Technology Veteran, Will Join Buehler's Growing Detroit-based Sales and Applications Team

DETROIT, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- Buehler Motor, Inc., a leading international provider of mechatronic drive and pump solutions with a specialty in the automotive industry, has significantly expanded its automotive customer, dealer and manufacturer support by adding to its Detroit-based sales team and seeking expanded facilities in the Detroit area to support its growing roster of auto industry clients.

David S. Griffith, a 14-year veteran of automotive technology sales at the OEM, Tier I and Tier II levels, has been named an automotive key accounts manager, and will join Buehler's existing Detroit sales and applications team to build upon the company's recently announced long-term contract with GM and growing relationships with Magna, Eaton EGR, BorgWarner, Inc., and other OEMs and component suppliers.

The announcement was made by Bob Riedford, Buehler Motor, Inc., president and general manager, who also confirmed that the company is looking to expand it facilities in the Detroit area to house its growing automotive support team. He says the company is pursuing plans to open a larger sales office in Q2 2009.

"David has an unrivaled track record managing relationships with the world's largest automotive technology providers."

In October 2008, Buehler Motor announced it had finalized contracts with General Motors to provide customized auxiliary water pumps for the Chevrolet Volt Extended-Range Electric Vehicle and some GM hybrid vehicles. Under terms of the contracts, Buehler will provide custom 12W and 50W auxiliary water pumps for the Volt and GM hybrid vehicles.

Griffith comes to Buehler Motor from Continental Automotive Systems of Auburn Hills, Mich., where he was sales manager within the Transmission Business Unit, responsible for such Tier I accounts as Eaton, BorgWarner and other AWD/4WD component suppliers. Prior to that, he held a similar position with Siemens VDO Automotive, also of Auburn Hills. During this relationship, he worked with all customer divisions to position Siemens products in the global market.

Griffith also has held major senior sales or engineering positions with VDO North American, LLC, where he managed the GM account; Inergy Automotive, Inc., where he was responsible for the Daimler Chrysler business unit; Cooper Standard Automotive; and Oakland Tool and Manufacturing.

A business administration graduate of Central Michigan University in Mt. Pleasant, Griffith received his MBA from Lawrence Technological University in Southfield, Mich. The South Lyon, Mich., resident is a member of the Society of Automotive Engineering (SAE).
